I believe that Physical Therapy is a very dynamic field and has a very essential role in the healthcare, but it is one of the misunderstood professions in Pakistan. As other healthcare professions and professionals have their regulatory bodies like PMDC and Pharmacy Council etc. but there is no regulatory body for physical therapy education as well as for practice in Pakistan. |

Physical Therapists in Pakistan are facing many problems and challenges in both areas. There is no standard and unified criteria for physical therapy education as well as specific guidelines for physical therapy practice in the country.
We as Physical Therapists should feel that it is our responsibility to educate the health professionals as well as the general public about the field and the proper understanding of the profession.
We all agree that we have many issues in Pakistan, but I do not see any sincere efforts of the physical therapists for the development of the profession and also for the service structure for the physical therapists in the government and also in the private sector but this is not a one man job to do, we need to have an active organization so that we could work together for the development of the profession and also for the challenges we are facing in the country.
I believe that with our sincere efforts together from the PPTA platform we will be able to achieve our aims and objectives. We will not only work for the establishment of the council but also to establish links with foreign physical therapy organizations for the professional development in the country. ALLAH (SWT) may help us and give us strength for this noble cause to serve the humanity.
