Pakistan Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) is a national organization which represents the maximum number of physical therapists of the country. The association (caters maximally the physical therapists as its members), is governed by the steering committee of the association which is elected after every two years and is supported by a system of committees, groups, regional chapters and the central executive committee.
PPTA provides an extremely wide range of services to the respected members. It is helping the professionals and the profession in education, practice and research. It is also helping the professionals and the students of physical therapy in proper delivery of healthcare services while protecting their rights.
PPTA will also help in the proper functioning of the physical therapy teaching institutes and help them to make a unified curriculum with latest updates according to the future challenges faced by the profession worldwide.
Mission Statement
The mission of PPTA is to provide a platform for representation and promotion of physical therapy profession and make it more challenging for the coming generations so as to enhance the role of profession to its maximum level in the evaluation and treatment of the patients belonging to the ailing public.
Furthermore, we encourage the high standards of physical therapy research, education and practice. We support communication among the physical therapists of different regions and even collaborations with other national and international organizations of same and different health professions, and also to take legal actions which may be essential for the protection, development and ethical perspectives pertaining to physical therapy as profession, physical therapists as professionals and public as the patients of physical therapy.
Aims & Objectives
- To promote friendly relationship, harmony & unanimity of purpose among physical therapists in Pakistan and throughout the world.
- To promote right understanding and harmony among its member in particular and community in general on all subjects involving their common goods and safeguard their interests.
- To consider and deal with all administrative matters concerning capacity building and skill enhancement of members and devise ways and means to overcome any difficulties or problems arising in connection therewith.
- To advance, develop, protect, safeguard and promote the rights, interests and privileges of physical therapists in Pakistan.
- To stimulate the spirit of mutual self help on principle of co-operation among the members of association.
- To disseminate information among the members and to collect, print, publish, circulate information, which may be deemed conductive to the objective of association.
- To attempt for settlement or compromise or arbitration of any disputes arising among members if agreed upon by aggrieved parties.
- To work for eradication of unethical business practices from the field of physical therapy in particular and treatment/rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in general.
- To make a presentation to the local and provincial authorities on any matter concerned with the field of physical therapy.
- To appoint the delegation to present the case of members before the authorities on any matter concerned as well as council formation at government level.
- To elect or nominate the members to represent the association on any local or public body.
- To buy, acquire, take on lease or by way of transfer, movable or immovable property of the association.
- To file, prosecute or defend any action, lawsuit, application appeals against the objectives of the association.
- To subscribe, secure affiliation with government of Pakistan.
- To carry out all such other lawful functions as may be incidental or conductive to attainment of above aims & objective.
- To create sense of good relation, respect and morality among the seniors and junior members of the association and to motivate juniors to take professional advantages of knowledge of seniors to regulate the conduct of members of the association to be in accordance with the norms of good ethics and morality.
- To nominate delegates for participation in national and international seminars/exhibitions/forums.
- To promote technical education and training of all associated with physical therapy.
- To establish committees to promote and achieve the above objectives.
